Interview of our management about the long-term cooperation with our Belgian supplier CEBEO

TECHNOLOGICAL KNOW-HOW, LOGISTIC EFFICIENCY AND HUMAN QUALITIES: A WINNING COMBINATION

 

The renowned manufacturer of equipment systems for technical control stations and freight elevators has been ordering the components for its technical cabinets from Cebeo for several years.

"We spent a long time working on the electrical components of our hoists," testifies Mr. Mennicken. “In 2016, our range reached a technological level that required an external provider to ensure optimal programming of the CPU (central processing unit) and the 'security level'. This dual requirement added to our need to have alternatives at very short notice should a component become unavailable. Our collaboration with Cebeo dates back to this moment. Their clout, their prices, their expertise, their responsiveness and the commitment of Fabrice and Antonio won us over.”

 

Another important plus point was the storage agreement. Roger Mennicken: “The agreement linking our company to Cebeo offers us valuable security. Thanks to her, not only is the risk of running out of components reduced, but we also have the certainty that we will receive a fixed price for a year (with monthly billing)." Tim de Toledo Sommerlath: "Not to forget that we not have to worry about storing the parts for our switch boxes. As our business continues to grow, having this off-site storage is a huge plus!”

 

Fabrice Fokan and Antonio Lobue added: “The specifications that R. Weisshaupt AG entrusts to us are never rigid. Isn't there a component? One of our own suppliers manufactures it on request. And if we are convinced that certain other planned parts can be optimized, we discuss this with Mr. Mennicken and make suggestions to him.”

The fact that R. Weisshaupt AG and Cebeo have been able to build up such a relationship of trust in so few years is because they share the same striving for excellence. Fabrice Fokan and Antonio Lobue: “The components for the technical cabinets come from well-known manufacturers such as Siemens, Bosch, Schneider, Weidmüller, etc. They have made a name for themselves in the industry in recent years. We maintain particularly close relationships with some of them. In particular Siemens, for which we are the only Approved Partner in Belgium. This means that in addition to the training we do, we also guarantee service and stock. At a time when technologies are rapidly advancing, it is reassuring for our customers to know that we are familiar with Industry 4.0.”

 

Roger Mennicken and Tim de Toledo Sommerlath added: "It's not only reassuring, it's very promising. Our customers are increasingly demanding digitally networked solutions. Vehicle inspection centers, for example, can already imagine remotely checking the condition of the lift to make maintenance smarter. This hyper-connectivity also raises the issue of security associated with our products. Fabrice is inexhaustible on this subject. We haven't stopped working together yet...".

 

But technical know-how is nothing without human contact. Our relationship goes beyond the professional framework,” emphasizes Mennicken. One can clearly speak of a friendly relationship forged by our shared experiences. Fabrice and Antonio try to find solutions and challenge us when necessary. They are responsive and available. We tell each other things clearly and without beating around the bush. R. Weisshaupt AG has always paid great attention to the human dimension of relationships. In this respect we are a real dream team!”

SHORT CIRCUIT

Before they turn back to their work, the two directors and the purchasing manager of the German-speaking company report on their strong will to systematically prefer the shortest route when selecting their suppliers. Cebeo is a Belgian group with branches throughout Belgium – an argument that counts,” explains Mennicken. Only if a product is not available on the Belgian market do we first look at the European market and then at other continents. Is the material price a bit higher with us? If the service is also more expensive, we are there.
